Natalie Apostolou
Former OMD executive and iTV commercialisation pioneer, Toby Hack will assume his newly created role with the Nine Network on June 18 as its Multi Channel / Digital Broadcasting Sales Director.
The UK based executive was lured over to Australia by the network in a bid to kick start its interactive service offerings.
Hack was most recently the MD of broadcast software supplier Ensequence International. Prior to that he spent a decade with OMD, launching OMDtvi, one of the first dedicated interactive TV companies.
PBL Media’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Joe Pollard stressed the importance of the role. “It is imperative that we invest and specialise in this area. We are delighted that Toby is joining us and believe our advertising partners will benefit as a result.”
Hack will make his first public industry appearance at the Commercialising Video summit hosted by AIMIA and Venture One on June 24. The summit also features a key note from Jack Ford Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Sony Pictures Television International.
“Commercialising video is a hot topic. The business models are still unclear and there is a lot of uncertainty on how to monetise video. The case studies and panel discussion will focus on what business models are working, what advertising formats are working, distribution strategies, technical innovations, and what the future holds”, said VentureOne’s Claudia Sagripanti. “
