Local digital guns take Manhattan

A delegation of emerging Australian digital talent have been selected to attend a four-day trade mission to New York on February 26-29 , backed by Austrade and in conjunction with AIMIA and support from Multimedia Victoria.

Five companies have been confirmed including MassMedia Studios, M.Net, Tigerspike, Ish Median and Topia. According to AIMIA national TradeStart manager, Janelle Ledwidge, the mission aims to provide participants with a platform to introduce their technologies and services to major advertising and interactive media firms, as well as other companies involved in the media and advertising industries.

“As an industry association AIMIA has a role to play in promoting exports and fostering industry growth. And since digital media is clearly a global, high-growth industry, while our domestic market is relatively small, this mission aims to capitalise on US demand for innovative digital media technology,” she said.

TigerSpike CEO Luke Janssen said the timing of the trade mission couldn’t be more perfect for his company. “TigerSpike have been planning the opening of a New York office before the end of the first quarter and the additional introductions that AIMIA can leverage will add extra momentum to that critical first six months of business.”

The four day program includes an initial New York market integration session which addresses business culture, networking, meeting and pitching issues which is followed by a roundtable discussion panel with market mentors who are experts in New York’s digital media business. DM
