Digital Media magazine contributors Simon Sharwood and Mark Jones were honoured by their industry peers at the Sun Microsystems IT Journalism Awards held last Thursday night in Sydney.
Sharwood secured the Best Business Technology journalist prize while Mark Jones' The Scoop podcast won the Lizzie for Best Audio Program. Gold Lizzies went to the Australian Financial Review for Best Title and also secured Best Business Technology Coverage while Darren Yates took out the Gold Lizzie for Best Journalist in addition to Best Reviewer and Best Technical Journalist.
The AFR’s Information editor Ben Woodhead won Best Technology Industry journalist and stablemate MIS Australia won Best Business Magazine while Australian Anthill secured a Highly Commended mention.
The Australian took out Best News Title with Mahesh Sharma winning the Cass Warneminde Best News Journalist award. Meanwhile News.com.au/technology garnered the Best Website honour. The inaugural David Hellaby Best PR Professional Award was won by Pru Quinlan. Digital Media congratulates all the winners.
