This digital life- Justin Milne
Natalie Apostolou
z Earliest web memory?
The first time I clicked on a hyperlink in Mosaic. I almost screamed “Eureka”. It was a seriously powerful media moment for me as I just knew that the web had to be a serious game-changer for media (and life) as we had known it.
z Digital faux pas?
Sending a deprecating email about a guy I didn’t have much time for. The email somehow made its way into print in a weekly business magazine much to my embarrassment.
z Home page?
www.bigpond.com
z Secret site everyone should know about?
www.i-pond.com.au, http://bigpondvideo.com/ or http://www.rhymezone.com for songwriters.
z Mobile phone handset?
Lots of different handsets and PDAs so I can constantly check all of our content on them. The experience is still so irritatingly variable.
z PC or Mac?
Both. The new i-Mac, which is basically all screen, looks particularly sexy and I want one. I just got a new HP Smart Touch which is a touch screen Windows Media Centre for the kitchen.
z Google or Yahoo?
www.sensis.com.au
z Facebook or MySpace or most frequented social networking site?
www.bigblog.com.au and Facebook.
z Digital hero?
Very Mulberry, the queen of the BigPond islands in Second Life. Then Steve Jobs.
z Best digital communication ever seen?
Forgive the inhouse focus but it’s a toss-up between our live mobicast and webcast of Missy Higgins from The Basement in Sydney or our 30-minute live TV program with Eric Bana and Richard Wilkins for the launch of BigPond TV.
z I wish I thought of?
RSS.
z What’s passé ?
Ads featuring talking animals .
z What’s next?
The vision of the digital home becoming a reality as faster broadband speeds allow multiple connections for PCs, media centres, games platforms and more.
