The BBC College of Journalism is offering a free digital downloads of an eBook titled ‘The Future of Journalism’. The book is a collection of papers from speakers a recent conference discussing the changes technology has brought to the news business.

Charles Miller, Editor at BBC College of Journalism explained the collection.

“Today, as technology changes the lives of both journalists and their customers, assumptions about what journalism is and how it is practiced are being re-examined. These papers, from speakers at the conference, may help others embrace the new opportunities without abandoning the best of the values and culture that have shaped journalism over many decades.”

The papers cover many of the important changes that are happening to today’s news media, including the rise (and questionable usefulness) of user-generated content to the end of what BBC World News Director Peter Horrocks describes as ‘Fortress Journalism’
