Confirmed: Twitter increases API limit to 150 per hour

After a number of reports from users of Tweetdeck and Twhirl,  the Twitter API Wiki has updated, confiming that the rate limit is now 150 per hour, an increase of 50%.

The Twitter REST API limit restricts how many requests you can make to the Twitter using the HTTP GET command. This means you can perform a search, check tweets, or any other command that pulls tweets from the Twitter servers up to 150 times per hour.

It does not affect the ability to send tweets via the API which currently has no restrictions.

So if you are truly addicted to Twitter and can't get enough, now you will be able to get your fix without having to wait out the last few minutes of the hour.
