Ex ZDNet editor launches Australian technology news service

Former ZDNet news editor Renai LeMay has today announced the launch of his own independent publishing house and it's first property, technology website Delimiter.

The site will feature news, opinions, feature articles, profiles and multimedia content, focusing exclusively on the Australian technology sector, leaving international reporting to 'the experts' overseas.

"I wanted to found a site that would cover (the Australian technology) sector in minute detail. A site that would tell the stories of Australians, for an Australian audience." said LeMay in a post detailing the reasons behind the launch.

Run as a one man band, Delimiter will not rely on advertising in the foreseeable future. Instead  offering unlimited licencing deals to publishers competing with wire services such as Former ZDNet news editor Renai LeMay has today announced the launch of his own independent publishing house .

A Delimiter subscription deal would allow publishers to use any or all of Delimiter's content for a $750 flat fee per month.

Renai told Digital Media that he was not too concerned that the republishing of his content across the internet would affect his SEO ranking, preferring instead to build a community as he sees publishers moving away from reliance on search engine traffic.

He would also not be drawn on whether any publishers had already signed up for the licensing deal.
