Fairfax Digital has filled the national sales director role which has remained vacant since December with the appointment of British expat Paul Sigaloff.

Sigaloff has relocated to Sydney from the UK, where he has spent the last decade working in the digital sector, most recently he was the sales director for Global Interactive, a division of the UK's commercial radio network, Global Radio. He also held a senior digital role at UK public broadcaster Channel 4.

Sigaloff replaces Trent Lloyd who left Fairfax in December. Lloyd has resurfaced as head of business development at the vertical ad network solutions provider Adify which recently launched into the Australian market and is owned by Cox Communications.

At Fairfax Digital, Sigaloff will be responsible for strengthening the online publisher's relationships with media agencies and digital specialists. Ed Harrison, Fairfax Digital's commercial director of media, who Sigaloff will report to, said "he has proven himself to be a dynamic executive with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist in the online industry."

Fairfax Digital is still on a recruitment hunt to replace finance director Nimesh Shah who left the company in February to join Friendster as CFO. Meanwhile former Telstra executive Anna Cicognani also recently joined the Fairfax Digital team as chief product officer reporting g to CEO Jack Matthews
