Political activism organisation GetUp! has employed Adelaide agency Fnuky to launch a campaign against the government’s planned mandatory internet filter.
The pairing will next week launch their campaign against the mandatory internet filter, which is currently undergoing a live trial with selected ISPs.
Simon Sheikh, director of GetUp!, said: “A plan as radical as government censorship of the internet needs a radical response and the campaign we are set to launch with Fnuky is radically funny”.
“Even if you put legitimate concerns about free speech side the experts agree that a secret blacklist of 1,300 sites , out of literally billions, will do nothing to reduce illegal material on the internet”.
David Campbell, Fnuky’s creative director, said: “Many people think that the Government has not sold this policy very well – maybe it’s because the idea of censoring the internet in a free country is an unsellable idea. It’s our job to highlight what mandatory internet filtering means to the average person”.
GetUp is an independent community advocacy organisation which helps Australians to get involved and hold politicians accountable on important issues.
