Australia's Aura Interactive and Tiger Spike are among the top digital agencies shortlisted for the 2008 global Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) awards.

The awards recognise companies that are successfully using and leading the adoption of the mobile channel for marketing purposes.

Aura Interactive was shortlisted in four categories for ‘best use of mobile marketing’, which is a record for an Australian company. It will now compete for the gong in the Cross-Media Integration, Direct Response, Promotion and Relationship Building categories.

Tiger Spike was also named as a finalist in the Relationship Building and Branding categories.

Laura Marriott, president of the MMA said: “The quality of submissions we receive for our awards program continues to increase as the mobile marketing channel matures.

“We appreciate the contribution of all those who submitted applications and congratulate these finalists, each of whom demonstrate innovation, creativity and excellence in their mobile marketing implementations.”

The MMA received submissions across 12 categories and entries were judged by a selection committee made up of industry leaders from wireless carriers, technology and content providers, agencies and industry publications.

Winners will be announced at the annual global dinner and ceremony in San Diego on November 13 at the conclusion of the MMA’s Mobile Marketing Forum.
