The founder and former CEO of digital marketing network BlueFreeway Richard Webb has resurfaced as a board member of Australian digital audience measurement company, Effective Measure.
Webb, who was ousted as chief executive of BlueFreeway in January, worked alongside Effective Measure co-founder James Robertson at Red Sheriff, where Webb was joint chief executive officer, as well as at Nielsen NetRatings. Webb who was president of Asia Pacific and Latin America for Nielsen NetRatings, following the successful trade sale of Red Sheriff, to AC Nielsen in 2004, said he was drawn to the new role because of his previous experience with its founders. "Effective Measure was founded by two people who really know the industry and have a lot of experience in building successful companies around innovative technological solutions,” Webb said.
Since Webb’s departure from BlueFreeway the digital marketing networks’ new majority shareholder Michael Hannan has started a process of selling or closing down non-core businesses.
On Monday the company announced that one of its core assets MassMedia Studios had been 100% acquired by BlueFreeway. The asset was previously 51% owned by the ASX listed entity. Founder and CEO of MassMedia Studios Steve Fanale is remaining with the company through the transition. Fanale said that the buyout would allow MassMedia to continue with its strategic focus of marketing its Traction solution locally and expansion into South East Asian, European and US markets.
